How to change /affiliates folder

Hi,

How to change /affiliates folder name? I'm using regular links.

Thanks

You can rename the folder via FTP then change the name in the
/system/application/config/config.php file.

JROX.COM

Hi,

I did it as per your help article (sorry i lost the link).

So I just replaced line in routes.php

//AFFILIATE ROUTING
define('AFFILIATE_ROUTE', 'affiliates');
$route[AFFILIATE_ROUTE.'/:any'] = "refer/id/$1";

with

//AFFILIATE ROUTING
define('AFFILIATE_ROUTE', ' ');
$route[AFFILIATE_ROUTE.'/:any'] = "refer/id/$1";

Is this correct?

are you renaming the actual installation folder as well? or just the
affiliate links?

moham37283 Posted a reply 6 years ago

I'm using regular affiliate links, so I need these links to be displayed:

mysite.com/username

instead of:

mysite.com/affiliates/username

I'm not making any changes to actual installation folder.

you can change it in the /system/application/config/routes.php:

//AFFILIATE ROUTING
define('AFFILIATE_ROUTE', ' ');
$route[AFFILIATE_ROUTE.'/:any'] = "refer/id/$1";

Thank you.

One more question.

I put following line in tpl_header.php

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?=base_url('js')?>themes/main/<?=$layout_design_site_theme?>/favicon.ico">

Favicon itself is in active theme folder - themes/main/light_blue/favicon.ico

But is not showing up.What I did wrong?

try:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?=base_url('js')?>themes/main/<?=$layout_design_site_theme?>/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

I have tried to get this to work... but it doesn't.

Trying to accomplish the same as the original post writer.

Instead of: www.mydomain.com/affiliate/joeschmoaffiliate

I would like: www.mydomain.com/joeschmoaffiliate

I have Affiliate Link Type set to regular and I have made the change in the .../config/routes.php as it was stated in the post I quoted below.

If I change 'affiliates' to any other word it works but when I change it to ' ', it does not.
